چکیده
Abstract Adenium obesum (Forssk.) Roem. & Schult., popularly known as desert rose, has become a valuable ornamental plant. In floriculture, the production of hybrids is prioritized. Hence, knowledge on floral biology and sexual reproduction target species fundamental. The objectives this study were: (1) to test sucrose concentrations temperatures for in vitro germination A. pollen grains; (2) identify effect temperature viability (3) evaluate grains stigma receptivity pre-anthesis, at flower opening, 72 h post-flower opening three accessions obesum. A significant relationship between was observed test. highest percentage grains, 39.81%, an estimated 26.05 °C. Desert rose maintained biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) chambers 30 °C during 16-h light photoperiod showed faster flowering, ≥ 25 induced grain percentages above 69%. Temperature one most important abiotic factors, influencing mainly germination, tube growing efficiency fertilization. ICA-wd accession stood out can be considered donor artificial pollination. stigmas flowers were receptive from day before until days after. two parameters presented above, viability, allow inferences about appropriate time successful pollination subsequent fertilization roses.

Morphology and viability of castor bean genotypes pollen grains
The objective of this work was to characterize the morphology and viability of the pollen of 15 genotypes of castor bean (Ricinus communis L.) and to generate information that can assist in the selection of highly promising male parents for future use in genetic improvement programs aimed at producing seeds for oil extraction. Acetolysis and scanning electron microscopy was used to characterize...
متن کاملPollen-stigma interaction in Brassica. III. Hydration of the pollen grains.
A method is described by which the changes in shape that accompany hydration of Brassica pollen grains may be rapidly measured. Using this technique it has proved possible to chart the small amount of hydration that takes place on anthesis, in addition to the response of pollen to a range of relative humidities in vitro and in vivo. Such measurements, together with pollen transfer experiments, ...
متن کاملPollen-stigma interactions in Brassica. IV. Structural reorganization in the pollen grains during hydration.
With the aid of osmium tetroxide vapour, dry pollen and pollen at various stages of hydration has been fixed anhydrously for examination with the transmission electron microscope (TEM). In addition to establishing features characteristic of grains at different states of hydration, this technique has enabled the detection of a superficial layer investing both the exine and the pollen coating. Th...
متن کاملPollen Viability, Pistil Receptivity, and Embryo Development in Hybridization of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn
Seed set is usually low and differs for different crosses of flower lotus (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.). The reasons remain unknown, and this has a negative impact on lotus breeding. To determine the causes, we carried out two crosses of flower lotus, that is, "Jinsenianhua" × "Qinhuaihuadeng" and "Qinhuaihuadeng" × "Jinsenianhua" and pollen viability, pistil receptivity, and embryo development we...
متن کاملDifferential selection on pollen and pistil traits in relation to pollen competition in the context of a sexual conflict over timing of stigma receptivity
Sexual conflict and its evolutionary consequences are understudied in plants, but the theory of sexual conflict may help explain how selection generates and maintains variability. Here, we investigated selection on pollen and pistil traits when pollen arrives sequentially to partially receptive pistils in relation to pollen competition and a sexual conflict over timing of stigma receptivity in ...
